Phil Goldfeder

With more than 15 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, Hon. Phil Goldfeder leads the Public Affairs department at Cross River. In this role, Goldfeder spearheads all aspects of the bank’s external affairs, government affairs and investor relations.
Goldfeder began his career in public service as a community liaison for the New York City Council. This soon led to a position as a Director for the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit under Michael Bloomberg, and then as New York Senator Charles E. Schumer’s Director of Intergovernmental Affairs.
In September of 2011, Goldfeder was elected to represent the 23rd District in the New York State Assembly. After most of his district was devastated during Superstorm Sandy, Goldfeder worked tirelessly with the banking and insurance industry to reform policies and author new laws to address issues in the wake of the storms devastation. In September of 2017, following his service in the Assembly, Goldfeder joined Cross River to lead the growing Public Affairs department.
Goldfeder’s career in public service, ability to enact positive change and develop deep relationships with diverse leaders across the state and country renders him an invaluable asset to Cross River and the entire fintech industry. In conjunction with Boston University and others, in 2016, Goldfeder led a successful effort to host the first annual Marketplace Lending Summit in Washington, D.C. and is a founder of the Online Lending Policy Institute (OLPI).
